Academic Standards

Reading Comprehension,

Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it.  

Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Vocabulary-Students will expand their working vocabularies to effectively communicate and understand texts. 

 

 

Skills :

Student will analyze details in literary and nonfiction/information texts to distinguish genres.

Students will develop and strengthen writing by engaging in recursive process that includes prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing.

Student will apply components of a recursive writing process for multiple purposes to create a focused, organized and coherent piece of writing.
