Ivy Fitzgerald

Hello! I am Ivy Fitzgerald the Physical Education instructor for Waurika Elementary. In addition to elementary physical education and athletics I am also the head junior high and high school fastpitch softball coach and assistant to Coach Joe Masoner in junior high and high school basketball.

Brief Background-  I grew up right here in Waurika Oklahoma, born and raised! I played for a very competitive tournament softball team where we played all over and against teams all over the nation! I earned the highest honor a high school athlete can receive, All-State for the OSSAA Fastpitch Softball. I left Waurika to further my softball career at East Central University where I played for the Lady Tigers for three of the four years I spent there. I added knowledge of the game of softball as well as knowledge about the weight room and off season programs. East Central University is where I earned my degree in Kinesiology (exercise science) with a minor in Education. My first year as a coach, I spent in Ada as the head coach of the Lady Cougar junior high softball program and assisted in the Lady Cougar high school softball program.

After spending time and gaining more knowledge about the game as a coach I decided to venture back home and give the Lady Eagles something they have never had. Which is someone who not only cares about them but the program itself. That is what led me here today and I could not be more happy to be a part of the Waurika Public School system.
